Frederik Pilemand Hansen

Head of the International Department

Candidature Motivation:

I am running for the position of Head of the International Department because I have a strong passion for development work in Eastern Europe, which aligns perfectly with Silba’s increased focus on the Eastern Partnership countries. My interest in Eastern Europe began during my studies in Eastern European Studies at the University of Copenhagen, where I explored the region’s history, culture, and politics. Beyond academic learning, I have also gained practical experience through an exchange semester in Kazakhstan, an internship in Latvia, project work in Moldova, and humanitarian work in Ukraine. These experiences have provided me with valuable insights into the region’s cultural diversity and political developments. Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Global and Development Studies at Roskilde University. Here, I have developed a broader academic approach to project management and international development, which I am eager to apply in leading the International Department.

Your Biggest Goal for the Board Term:

Many of Silba’s international projects are still in their early stages. I hope to contribute to giving them a secure and steady foundation by fostering strong, independent youth leaders abroad and supporting the development of confident, capable project managers within Silba.
