Step Up For Democracy
The STUDEM project began in 2016 when the Danish-Moldovan partnership group started collaborating on initiatives with the overall aim of strengthening Moldovan youth engagement in democracy and decision-making structures through active participation, empowerment, and ensuring youth understand their rights. Since 2024, STUDEM has had a cooperation agreement with the Moldovan Ministry of Education and Research to promote and develop student self-governance structures.

Youth of Gagauzia
The Youth of Gagauzia project is dedicated to promoting mutual understanding among young people both within their region and across Moldova. By empowering youth as agents of social change, the project aims to provide them with the tools to create impactful activities in their communities. The initiative focuses on a youth-to-youth approach, where young volunteers develop and lead activities for their peers, with a particular emphasis on the inclusion of minority groups, including youth from Transnistria and young Ukrainian refugees.
Belarus (Lithuania)
Stronger Together
Stronger Together is a collaborative project between the Belarusian National Youth Council RADA and Silba. The project aims to strengthen the resilience, sustainability, and visibility of Belarusian youth organisations working under repressive conditions in Belarus and in exile.
Due to the nature of the project, the work is done from outside of Belarus.
Ukraine
School of Democracy
In Ukraine, Silba is working with The National Youth Council of Ukraine (NYCUkraine) to prepare young Ukrainians to actively shape the country’s democratic future.
The project builds knowledge on elections, dialogue, and civic participation - drawing on experiences from Ukraine, Denmark, and across Europe.
Egypt
School of Dialogue
In Egypt we have been working with our partner, The Dialogue Company, to host the School of Dialogue. The project targeted local community leaders in marginalised communities of Egypt who was trained in dialogical tools. The project focused on the ability to foster and strengthen a dialogical culture while creating peer-to-peer dialogical safe spaces within their own communities following the seminar training. The project is currently wrapping up and focusing on reporting.
Our international projects are supported by the Danish Youth Council via development aid from the state of Denmark and CISU.
All projects are driven by youth and anchored in values of dialogue, democracy, and diversity.
